About Oklahoma State Cowboy Football

"The Cowboys’ football team plays its home games in Lewis Stadium. Originally constructed in 1914, the first grandstands were installed in 1920 raising the seating capacity to 8,000. The most recent addition was a new playing surface installed in 1987 at a cost of more than $400,000. Official sellout capacity is listed at 50,614 for the stadium, but standing room only availability can push the total attendance higher. The all-time record attendance in Lewis Stadium was 51,458 for the Oklahoma State-Oklahoma game in 1979. The Cowboys main rivals include Penn State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas and Colorado."

Big Twelve Football Football

"One of the younger conferences in the nation, it wasn’t till 1994 when Baylor, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech combined forces to create the Big 12 Conference. Big 12 teams have accounted for almost 160 national championships-143 NCAA and 16 wire service football titles. In basketball, the conference has no divisional format. The schools are split into the same scheduling matrices and play an intra-divisional round-robin as each team plays every other team on a home-and-home basis. The Big 12 is home to more than 4,000 student-athletes on 209 teams in the 21 men's and women's Big 12 sponsored sports."
