About Big 12 Conference
"One of the younger conferences in the nation, it wasn’t till 1994 when Baylor, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech combined forces to create the Big 12 Conference. Big 12 teams have accounted for almost 160 national championships-143 NCAA and 16 wire service football titles. In basketball, the conference has no divisional format. The schools are split into the same scheduling matrices and play an intra-divisional round-robin as each team plays every other team on a home-and-home basis. The Big 12 is home to more than 4,000 student-athletes on 209 teams in the 21 men's and women's Big 12 sponsored sports." |
