About Utah Ute Basketball

"Utah Utes basketball is the perennial power of the Mountain West Conference. Over the years the Utes have played regularly in the NCAA tournament including a NCAA national championship season in 1944, and NCAA runner up season in 1997-98. The Utah Utes men’s and women’s basketball programs play in the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City UT. The Huntsman center has a capacity topping 15,000 and is commonly among the loudest arenas and strongest home court advantages in college basketball. The Utes commonly finish their seasons unscathed on their home court. Major rivals of the University of Utah include the hated BYU Cougars, New Mexico, the Wyoming Cowboys, San Diego State, Weber State, Utah State, Air Force Academy, UNLV and Colorado State University. "

The Mountain West Conference regularly is among the strongest conferences in the nation in Men’s and Women’s basketball with powerhouses including Utah, Wyoming UNLV, BYU and SDSU and well as in football where Colorado State University and Brigham Young is a regular in the national polls and several other schools are on the rise."
