"The Southern Miss Golden Eagles women’s and men’s basketball programs play their home games in the Green Coliseum on the Southern Miss campus. Green Coliseum is also the home of Lady Golden Eagle basketball and volleyball, and the facility is used for other campus functions such as graduation, concerts, and civic events. The Southern Miss Basketball teams compete in Conference USA. Major Golden Eagle rivals include Memphis, South Alabama, Houston, South Florida, TCU, UAB, Cincinnati, Marquette and Saint Louis."

"Conference USA is one of the youngest conferences in college sports having been formed in 1995. However, C-USA has quickly made a name for itself with its overall outstanding play in basketball and football, as it has in a number of additional sports. In basketball, Cincinnati, Marquette, Louisville and Memphis have become post-season regulars and the conference has continuously placed teams near the top of the national ranking. In football, Conference USA has frequently sent teams to bowl games and has bowl contracts with the Liberty Bowl, the GMAC Bowl, the Houston Bowl, the New Orleans Bowl and the brand new Hawaii Bowl. C-USA programs include, Army, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Depaul, East Carolina, Houston, Louisville, Marquette, Memphis, Saint Louis, South Florida, Southern Miss, TCU, Tulane and UAB." |
