"The Saint Louis University Billikens men’s and women’s basketball programs play in the state of the art Savvis Center in downtown St. Louis. The Savvis Center has a capacity of 20,000 for basketball and hockey and 21,000 for concert events. The Billikens are member of Conference USA. During the 2002 - 2003 season the Billikens claimed their biggest victory ever with a stunning upset of the #2 ranked Louisville Cardinals. Major Billiken rivals include Southwest Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Cincinnati, Marquette, Memphis, Louisville, East Carolina, Charlotte and DePaul."

"Conference USA is one of the youngest conferences in college sports having been formed in 1995. However, C-USA has quickly made a name for itself with its overall outstanding play in basketball and football, as it has in a number of additional sports. In basketball, Cincinnati, Marquette, Louisville and Memphis have become post-season regulars and the conference has continuously placed teams near the top of the national ranking. In football, Conference USA has frequently sent teams to bowl games and has bowl contracts with the Liberty Bowl, the GMAC Bowl, the Houston Bowl, the New Orleans Bowl and the brand new Hawaii Bowl.
