Dallas Star History
"Dallas can trace its hockey history back to World War II. In the spring of 1941, Clarence E. Linz announced his hockey team, the Texans, would be starting play the next year, joining the American Hockey Association. Before the Stars arrived in Dallas for the 1993-94 season, the Central Hockey League operated a team in Dallas from 1967-1982 called the Dallas Blackhawks, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. The CHL returned for two seasons in 1992-93 and 1993-94 with the Dallas Freeze before that club ceased operations. The Dallas Stars have one Stanley Cup in their history winning the title in 1999."
Dallas Star Information
"The Dallas Stars play in the Western Conference Pacific Division. Division rivals include Anaheim Mighty Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes. Major rivalries include Stars vs. Red Wings, Stars vs. Avalanche, Stars vs. Flyers and Stars vs. Devils."
American Airlines Center
"The American Airlines Center is home to both the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. The building, which opened in 2001, boasts some unique architecture. Much of the building is encased in glass allowing fans spectacular views of the city while inside the arena. The arena opening was quite a show as it shattered two Guinness Book of World Records’ for largest ribbon cutting and longest ribbon ever." |
