Ottawa Senator History
"The Senators, one of hockey’s Original Six, can trace their history back to 1901. As one of the founding members of the NHL in 1917 the Senators have a storied history. The Senators dominated the early NHL winning four Stanley Cups in the 20s. After suffering many losing seasons after 1927 the club was moved to St. Louis for a year, finishes in last place and is then dissolved. The team reclaimed Ottawa in 1993 when the NHL awarded the city an expansion team. The team has yet to reclaim its former glory of the 20s."
