Chicago Blackhawk History

"The Chicago Blackhawks were founded on September 25, 1926, when the National Hockey League awarded a franchise to Major Frederic McLaughlin who came up with the $12,000 entry fee required to join the League. Although the team quickly captured two Stanley Cups it just as rapidly fell into a long period of ineptitude. The Blackhawks climbed back to the hockey pinnacle in 1960 when they defeated the Red Wings to win their third Cup. The Blackhawks continued their winning ways in the 80s where although they didn’t win a championship, the team made the playoffs every year. During the 2000-01 season, the Blackhawks celebrated 75 years of hardworking hockey."
