Tennessee Titan History
"In 1959, the Titans began their franchises history in the AFL when the team played in Houston and was called the Oilers. Two-years later the team would win its first AFL championship. It would take the team until 1978 to make it back to the playoffs which was the year Earl Campbell set an NFL record for rookies, rushing for 100-yards in 7 games. In 1984, Warren Moon completed his first NFL season with 3,338 yards passing, breaking the team record set by George Blanda in 1961. In 1992, Moon became only the 14th QB in NFL history to throw for over 30,000-yards, he accomplished this faster than any other QB except for Dan Marino. In 1997, the team moved to Tennessee and a few years later would play in one of the most dramatic Super Bowls of all-time, falling one-yard short of the championship in the final seconds of the game."
