Baltimore Raven History
"The Baltimore Ravens landed on the NFL landscape in 1995 when the Cleveland browns relocated to Baltimore. The first Ravens home game drew 64,000 fans, the largest crowd to see professional game in Baltimore history. In 2001, the Ravens set a record for points allowed in a 16-game season with 165. The defense also set a record for giving up the fewest rushing yards when they only yielded 970 throughout the entire season. That season the team also went on to win the Super Bowl, a 34-7 triumph over the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV."
Baltimore Raven Information
"The Ravens play in the American Football Conference North Division. Division rivals include the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. Major rivalries include Ravens vs. Steelers, Ravens vs. Browns and Ravens vs. Giants."
Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards
"The Ravens play their home games in Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards. The $220 million stadium was opened in 1998 and seats approximately 69,000 fans for football games. Built adjacent to Oriole Park, the $220 million facility incorporates brick and exposed steel as well as reinforced concrete and glass. The stadium's facade has more than one million hand-laid bricks and 4,000 pieces of buff-colored architectural precast. Although the prominent archways at the stadium entrances recall Oriole Park, they are heavier and sturdier than Oriole Park's to reflect the power and ruggedness of the sport and athletes. " |
