Dallas Cowboy History

"The Cowboys made their mark upon the NFL when they joined the league in 1960. It took the Cowboys, 11 years but they finally won their first division championship in 1971. The next year the team beat the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl VI for their first world championship. This would not be the last. In 1978, the Cowboys again won the Super Bowl after beating the Steelers and, in 1980 the Cowboys again won the division making it 15 straight winning seasons for America’s Team. The team would capture back-to-back Super Bowls in the early ’93 and ’94 and again in ‘96 behind a trio of stars, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin."

Dallas Cowboy Information

"The Cowboys play in the National Football Conference East Division. Division rivals include Cowboys vs. Eagles, Cowboys vs. Redskins and Cowboys vs. Giants. Major rivalries include Cowboys vs. Eagles and Cowboys vs. Giants."

Texas Stadium

"The Cowboys play their home games in Texas Stadium located in downtown Dallas. The $35 million stadium opened in 1971 and seats approximately 66,000 people for a football game. The hole in the roof is the most striking difference with other NFL facilities. The truth of the old joke that the hole is there ""so God can watch his favorite football team play"", the partial roof combines an outdoor atmosphere with an indoor environment and does a decent job of protecting fans from inclement conditions."
