Tampa Bay Buccaneer History

"In 1974, Tampa Bay was awarded the NFL’s 27th franchise starting a long marriage with the team and the Sunshine state. In 1977, the team won its first game after 26 straight losses setting an NFL record for futility. Only two years later, the Bucs would claim their first NFC Central title. In 1988, the Bucs beat the eventual AFC Champion Bills 10-5, the first time that score has been recorded in NFL history. In ’97, the Buccaneers hosted their first playoff game in 15-years and defeated the Lions 20-10. In 2003, behind new head coach Jon Gruden, the Bucs would romp through the playoffs to win the teams first ever Super Bowl when they trounced the Oakland Raiders."
