Detroit Tiger
History
"The Tigers are one of the charter members of the American League joining in 1901. In 190, the most famous Tiger of all time, Ty Cobb, played in his rookie season. In 1935, the Tigers captured their first World Series behind the inspired play of Mickey Cochrane. The Tigers would win their second title a decade later. In 1984, the Tigers became the first team in league history to lead the league wirer to wirer, never dropping out of first place and beating the Padres for the championship. In September of 1999, the Tiger’s played the last baseball game at Tiger Stadium. After an 87 year run, the Corner saw it's 6,783rd-and final-game with a sold-out crowd of 43,356 fans, many standing at their seats and dabbing tears from their eyes as 63 Tiger greats took the field one last time during the closing ceremonies of the park. The Tigers took that historic game, beating the Royals 8-2."

Information
"The Tigers play in the American League Central Division. Division rivals include the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins. Major rivalries include Tigers vs. White Sox, Tigers vs. Royals and Tigers vs. Twins."
Comerica Park
"The Tigers play their home games in Comerica Park in downtown Detroit. The $300 million stadium opened in 2000 and seats approximately 40,000 people. Fans in Comerica Park have an open view of downtown over the right-field fence. They also have more room. Although the ballpark takes up more land than Tiger Stadium, it seats 12,000 fewer people. The stadium features a Ferris wheel and a mammoth water feature in center field that can be choreographed to any music. It also sports a decade-by-decade pedestrian museum enveloping the main concourse."
