Florida Marlin History

"The Marlins, although a relatively new franchise, already can boast a World Series title on their resume. Joining the league in 1993, the Marlins won the championship four years later. The Marlins became the first Wild Card team ever to win a World Series, as they came from behind to claim eight of their 11 postseason victories. But none was more exciting than Edgar Renteria's 11th inning, two-out single in Game Seven, his second game-ender of the postseason and Florida's 29th win of the season in their final at-bat. It marked just the third Game Seven in Series history to go extra innings."

Florida Marlin Information

"The Marlins play in the National League East Division. Division rivals include the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and Montreal Expos. Major rivalries include Marlins vs. Devil Rays, Marlins vs. Phillies and Marlins vs. Expos."

Pro Player Stadium

"The Marlins play their home games in Pro Player Stadium located in Miami. The stadium opened in 1993 and can accommodate almost 43,000 fans. The stadium is also home to the Miami Dolphins. Pro Player Stadium, formerly known as Joe Robbie Stadium, is located one mile south of the Dade-Broward county line and sits on a 160-acre site. It is 16 miles northwest of downtown Miami and 18 miles south of Ft. Lauderdale. Pro Player Stadium offers the utmost in comfort and convenience.
