Milwaukee Brewer History

"The Brewers joined the league in 1970 behind the efforts of Bud Selig to bring a team to Milwaukee. In 1974, Robin Yount made is debut for the Brewers at shortstop at only 18-years old. In 1976, Hank Aaron played his final game in his career for the Brewers and blasted his 755, and last homerun on July 20th of that year. In 1982, the Brewers brought home two league honors; Yount won the MVP and pitcher Pete Vuckovich won the Cy Young award. In 1987, Juan Nieves recorded the first no-hitter in Brewers history becoming the first Puerto Rican born player to accomplish these feat. In 1997, the Brewers became the first American League team to play in Wrigley Field since the 1945 World Series when inter-league play was introduced."

Miller Park

"The Brewers play their home games in Miller Park located in the heart of Milwaukee. The $400 million stadium opened in 2001 and seats approximately 43,000 fans for baseball games. The $50 million, 7-panel retractable roof opens and closes like a fan in about 10 minutes. Miller Park has 11,700 seats and 20 skyboxes on the main field level, another 12,650 seats on the loge level, 4,150 seats and 50 skyboxes on the suite level and 14,500 seats on the upper terrace level. Seating represents a split-bowl concept where seating levels hang over others, bringing fans closer to the action on the field. Amenities include a brewery, open-air patios and walkways, a Hall of Fame and a children's area. The 1,200,000-square-foot park includes 25 miles of deep piles, 70,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, 4,600 pieces of pre-cast concrete, and 9,000 tons of steel. All of this is enough to build a 50-story building."
