Indiana Pacer
History
"A charter member of the ABA the Indiana Pacers joined the NBA when the two leagues merged in 1976. A bastion of basketball, Indiana long sought a professional team and has provided the Pacers with a solid fan base. As with many ABA teams the Pacers struggled for years before they finally found their footing. In consecutive years the Pacers drafted Reggie Miller and Rik Smits who would become the cornerstones of the team for a long time. The turnaround was in conjunction with basketball coaching legend Larry Brown who helped the team became a dominant force in the Eastern Conference for the last decade."
