New Jersey Net History

"The Nets have endured their share of losing seasons since joining the NBA. Once the class of the ABA riding on the back of Dr. Julius Erving, the team fell apart after letting the Dr. ""J"" leave to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Nets joined the NBA in 1976 and struggled until recently when a trade of all-star point guards left the Nets with one of the games best in Jason Kidd. With role players Kerry Kittles and Kenyon Martin helping Kidd out the Nets represented the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals in 2002 season. The Nets are once again a power house of the East this year and look to improve on last year’s loss in the finals."
