Los Angeles Laker
History
"The LA Lakers, the most dominant team since the Bulls of the 90s, have recently added three more championships to the mantle and are on their quest for the fourth in a row. Along with the Celtics, the Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in NBA history. The Lakers franchise pre-dates the NBA as it stated in Minnesota in the late 40s before moving to L.A. in 1960, however. The Lakers can boast some of the games best players from George Mikan and Elgin Baylor, to Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, to Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers have won 14 championships in their history and are looking to nab their 15th."

Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trailblazers and the Seattle Supersonics. "The Staples Center has been home to the Lakers since the beginning of the 1999 season. The arena is home to five professional sport franchises, the Lakers, the L.A. Clippers, the NHL’s L.A. Kings, the AFL’s L.A. Avengers and the WNBA’s L.A. Sparks. Since it’s opening in October of 1999, the Staples Center has hosted such entertainers as Madonna, N’Sync, Depeche Mode and the 42nd and 43rd Grammy Awards. The $330 million facility can seat up to 20,000 people for a basketball game. The venue also set a record as with home-office supplier Staples forking up $100 million for the naming rights to the arena." |
