Milwaukee Buck
History
The Bucks joined the NBA in 1968 and became the fastest team to ever capture a championship doing it in only their third year of existence. This was in large part due to their first draft pick in franchise history Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and future hall-of-fame guard Oscar Robertson. The Bucks remained strong contenders for most of the 70s and 80s before taking a step back in the 90s. The Bucks fortunes changed when they hired George Karl as their coach to begin the 1998 season.
Milwaukee Buck Information
"The Bucks play in the NBA Eastern Conference Central Division. Division rivals include the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers. Major rivalries include Bucks vs. Knicks, Bucks vs. Sixers, Bucks vs. Pacers and Bucks vs. Magic."
Bradley Center
"The Bucks play in the Bradley Center a $90 million arena built in 1988. The arena also serves as the home to AFL’s Milwaukee Mustang, the IHL’s Milwaukee Admirals and the NCAA basketball team Marquette Golden Eagles. The Bradley Center is the only major, public assembly facility in North America with construction underwritten by the philanthropy of a single family. The Bradley Center hosts about 200 events a year and welcomes 2 million guests to such shows as Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Elton John and various ice shows." |
